Contemporary in feel, nevertheless her designs show influences from ancient cultures. The work is characterised by simple, classic forms in bold materials with rich textures. She uses high carat golds and silver with a variety of subtle surface decorations. A carefully selected combination of gemstones including natural coloured diamonds, pearls, sapphires and spinels add to the sumptuous quality of the work. Running through the collection is impeccable design and acute attention to detail.

She is interested in form and developing surface decoration. Fragments of gold are fused to silver, then planished and worked by hand to create a unique patina. Some pieces are oxidised and the edges burnished to emphasise the lustrous quality of the silver and gold. Large hollow bangles, earrings and pendants make a strong sculptural statement, while not being too heavy to wear. Selected gemstones and pearls set in high-carat gold and hand-made chains complete the collection.

Jean lives and works in Sussex and has a base in London. She has exhibited widely and her work is in many private collections. She takes part in two or three exhibitons a year and works to commission.
